Currency Management — Setup Guide
The Currency Management (Currencies) page is the core configuration center of the Currency Converter Pro plugin. Here, you can centrally manage all currencies supported by your store, flexibly control which currencies are visible to buyers, and fine-tune how each currency is displayed.
Add Currency
At the top or in a prominent position on the page, you will usually find an "Add Currency" button. Clicking it allows you to select from over 160 global currencies. You can add currencies based on your target markets — for example, add Euro (EUR) and British Pound (GBP) for the European market, or Japanese Yen (JPY), Chinese Yuan (CNY), and South Korean Won (KRW) for the Asian market. It is recommended to enable only the currencies relevant to your business to avoid making the list too long and negatively affecting the buyer experience.
Enable & Disable Currencies
Next to each currency, there is typically a toggle switch or checkbox that controls whether the currency is visible to buyers on the storefront. You can enable or disable any currency at any time without deleting it from the list. This provides flexibility to adjust the displayed currencies during promotions or special campaigns.
Exchange Rate Settings
The Currency Management page supports two exchange rate modes:
- Automatic Exchange Rate: The system automatically fetches real-time market exchange rates and updates price conversions accordingly. This ensures accuracy and timeliness and is suitable for most merchants’ daily use.
- Manual Exchange Rate: You can manually enter a fixed exchange rate for specific currencies. This is ideal for scenarios where you need to lock in prices or implement special pricing strategies, such as setting a fixed discounted rate for a particular market.
Price Format & Rounding Rules
For each currency, you can configure individual price display formats and rounding rules, including:
- Whether to display two decimal places
- Whether to round prices to whole numbers (e.g., ¥99.50 displayed as ¥100)
- Whether to enable psychological pricing rounding (e.g., automatically adjusting prices to end in .99)
Well-chosen rounding rules not only make prices look cleaner but also help improve purchase intent among buyers in different markets.
Currency Sorting
You can drag and drop to adjust the display order of currencies in the dropdown chooser. Place the currencies of your primary target markets at the top of the list so buyers can find them quickly and improve the overall shopping experience.
Save & Apply Changes
After completing your currency configuration, click the Save button to make the settings take effect. It is recommended to go to the storefront preview after saving, switch between different currencies, and verify that the price conversions and display formats meet your expectations before making the changes live.
The Currency Management page is the starting point for building an international shopping experience for your store. Properly configuring your currency list and exchange rate rules will effectively help you attract and retain buyers from around the world.
